SOMALI TERRORIST SENTENCED - WHAT A BARGAIN !!!

AMERICAN JUSTICE DENIED

Somali Pirate, who attacked a U.S. flagged ship off the coast of Africa in 2009 was sentenced to 33 years 9 months in New York Federal Court, Wednesday, February 16, 2011. The terrorist, Abdiwali Abdiqadir Muse, who was the only survivor of the group of terrorists that survived the takeover.

The Maersk Alabama ship was attacked and all crew of the ship including Capt. Richard Phillips were freed after U.S. Navy Seal's sharpshooters killed three of Muse's men. Muse pled guilty in 2010 to federal charges, originally signed into law in the 19th Centruy, to Piracy. The U.S. government's claim was to expidite the prosecution to send a message to others that you will be prosecuted in America if you attack, injure or kill anyone on a U.S. flagged ship.

While Muse tried to apologize, Judge Loretta A. Preska choked up as she sentenced him. Judge Preska rejected Muse's explanation for his actions declaring that the prosecutors profiled the pirate as "experienced, coordinated and ruthless." She went on to say; "they appeared to relisheven their most depraved acts of phyasical and psychological violence".

The U.S. Justice Department reached an agreement with Muse's attorney to allow him to plead guilty, therefore avoiding a life sentence. What's wrong with this decision?  Simple!

Terrorists, Pirates and other offenders against the United States should NOT be allowed to plead to a lesser offense, lesser punishment and avoiding public view. America should not be in the business of "Bargin Justice" like a local street thug who has a history of in & out revolving door justice, until he/she murders somewone. Then a judge wags his finger at the offender, makes a pointed lecture to the defendant at sentencing, then puts them away for life. What about all the crimes before? It's like an Abbott & Costello comedy skit, where the judge wags his finger and says "you've been a bad boy".

Let's get Congress and those who want true perotection against terrorist attacks against America and Americans to guarantee a NO PLEA  STATUTE. They should be required to Plead Guilty to all charges without reduced sentencing or else they should go to trial and if convicted be sentenced to the appropriate maximum sentence...with no parole, probation or any other bleeding heart excuse. This is a WORLD WAR against America and its allies...Let's Not Forget That!!!

Yes, I know the government wants to save money. Trials cost money, especially when the U.S. Government would have to pay for both sides in many cases. The Prosecutor and then the appointed Defense Attorney.
