DEBT RELIEF INITIATIVE -- ALERT

While it looks like a Check from the Government, a careful examination of the document, that many are getting in the mail, is nothing more than a marketing ploy to collect information about the receiver. Personal information for questionable potential identity intrusion actions which costs consumers millions with little government action.

The Marketing Scheme begins like this;

You get unsolicited mail delivered to you at your home address. The envelope looks as if it is Official Government documents. First noticed on the envelope is a return address with an official government looking seal. The return address is for a Post Office Box, Washington D.C. 20090.  The envelope does request that the USPS (United States Post Office) "Expedite Mail Delivery", Then a line underneath states; "This is not a Government Document - Reply Service Requested.

It is very easy to miss all that information, since most recipients of mail generally do not look at the delivered envelope, but rather want to open the envelope immediately to see the content, or even become concerned from this envelope that looks like an official government document.

Upon opening the envelope, a documented letter is addressed to the Recipient. "Dear ---
Before you even see this segment of the envelope, which is a perforated check like letter envelope, one immediately sees what appears to be a CHECK. This document looks like a check, has the markings of a check, but when analyzed under the signature of the authorized official signature, the line reads; " Specimen - Non-Negotiable - NOT A CHECK"...this is written in computerized print, light , while the amount on the check in the Dollars and Cents section is in BOLD PRINT..THAT NUMBER GLARING AT YOU. IT FOR the AMOUNT of $6060.00. The upper right hand corner has a reference to an Account Number, seems to be the company file # of your identity.  There is also a Bank Account SIMPLEX Number. as if it was against a banking checking account. It all looks official and formal. Also notice on the face of the check thatthe embedded watermark is in the name of another company, "NATIONAL DEBT RELIEF INITIATIVE"..So which company is it?

Congratulations!!! You just found $6060.00, you didn't know you have available to you. Read the rest of the the Consumer Debt Relief Initiative document. It states that it's a "for-profit organization". It doesn't say corporation, company or llc, no it leads you to believe by the word usage of "ORGANIZATION" that it's a governmental entity. Then provides an 800 telephone number if you are interested, as the thousands of other consumers to receive debt relief. The letter goes on the require three specific details;

1. "You MUST have at least $10,000 in unsecured debt from credit cards, collection accounts or lines of credit."
2.  "You MUST have some form of income>"
3.  "You MUST be behind on payments or only making minimum payments on this debt."

They then claim that "The Consumer Debt Relief Initiative will connect you with a professional debt negotiator who is able to contact your creditors on your behalf and pursue action to obtain thousands of dollars in debt relief for you through a negotiated settlement."

Well, smarty pants, why can't you negotiate your own settlement. These companies have no special powers, they will charge a fee, make lots of promises and deliver little. This company and others are currently feeding on the hard economic times that Americans are experiencing.  Having Good Credit Scores gives you access to better percentages on loans, access to mortgages at a reasonable rate, and even credit cards with better rates.

The Credit Reporting Agencies should be your first step to debt resolution. Knowing what your credit report looks like, what's your cumulative score, and have the reports from the three different Credit Reporting Agencies will begin your process of cleaning up your debt or collection problems. You can call your creditors and work out a reduction in monthly payments, reduce the interest rates being charged and even obtain an agreement in writing to report your efforts to the credit reporting agencies. This will be a big PLUS toward your debt relief.

The $6060.00 check they offer will have the weight of additional payments and expense to recover from this what will become a short term loan, which will be paid to your creditors, with you paying off the debt to the Consumer Relief Agency.

At the end of the letter a Hold Harmless statement discloses that " This product or service is not affiliated with, associated with or endorsed by any GOVERNMENT AGENCY, and this offer is not being made by any agency of the Government." While they claim that "they do not offer loans, assume or pay any debt , provide legal advice or offer credit repair."  But early on they indicate that they will "provide you with access to resources that can resolve consumer debt hardships and financial duress." You will be referred to another company which is a credit collection agency or credit repair company that charge fees and interest payments.

DON'T BECOME A VICTIM HERE!!! YOU ARE ALREADY A VICTIM BY THE HIGH INTEREST RATES AND PENALTIES FOR LATE FEES and LATE PAYMENTS.


The GOVERNMENT DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN DEBT RELIEF FOR INDIVIDUALS OR COMPANIES..
