Panama City, Florida 12/14/2010 finds this Gulf Coast Beach Resort City in National headlines as the School Board meeting turned into a crime scene by a wildly crazed resident. Before he pulled his gun, he went to the wall close to the School Board, and with red spray paint drew a "V" surrounded by a circle, the sign from the movie "V is for VENDETTA". In the movie, no guns were used, just violence and knives.
Nothing they will ever forget.
The gunman was shot and brought down by the Chief of School Security, a former Police Detective with Panama City.It is now reported that the gunman killed himself with his own gun,
There is a gutsy hero in this picture who has been identified by the media. Ginger Littleton a School Board member came behind the shooter, while he was shooting, and hit his arm with a carefully placed hit of his shooting arm with her pocketbook. Good hit.
Board Member Littleton and the Police Chief were able to bring this matter to an end, before any of the Board members or students and guests were hurt or even killed.
It is reported that the shooter had posted an e-mail just days before with ramblings against the wealthy. He referred to the movie "V" within his e-mail posting.
It's obvious that the movie industry cannot be blamed for this or any other incident where they may influence the unstable into acting out the movie as a fantasy.
Questions remain open;
How did the crazed gunman get past the metal detector at the School Board meeting with his gun?
Who was monitoring the metal detector?
Either human error or mechanical technical error is the answer.Or, did crazed gunman find his way around the security. So often this is the problem. At Airports, Court Rooms, Prisons and even Capitol Hill, Washington, DC...
By-passing security systems is not uncommon!
