2011 CRIME EXPECTATIONS

It's expected by law enforcement authorities that 2011 can see a dramatic increase in the following areas of crime:

• ROBBERY - confrontational crimes. potential for violence
• FRAUD SCHEMES - mostly from Internet QUICK MONEY online business promises
• BANK ROBBERIES - violent or note passers..wheres the money, in the banks
• WEAPONS VIOLENCE - increase in random acts of violence.. some caused by GANG ACTIVITY
• BURGLARY - home break-ins..caused by increase in drug dependency
• DRUG DISTRIBUTION - quick street money..increase in Heroin use.. cocaine & marijuana
• ASSAULTS - mostly against women..or weak and frail, even homeless

Crimes committed by gangs against communities are on the increase...Gang activity is on the increase...the family breakdown, homelessness and exploitation of youth are all contributors. Many young girls are used as currier's for; gun runners, drug smugglers and prostitution as a gang initiation...then they are enslaved into human bondage.

SOLUTIONS:  Vary!  Law Enforcement concentration, media attention, family intervention, federal interdiction, money! money! money! for intervention programs is necessary. The redirection of enforcement assets, rehabilitation programs and community participation will aide in reduction and interdiction.  Sounds simple but in fact needs allot of coordination, not territorial infighting amongst law enforcement agencies, states attorneys and even community activist. 

Cutting -off the head of the fish usually kills the fish....cutting off the heads of gang takes more than incarceration.. It requires isolation of gang members incarcerated and those continuing outside operations. The public is being inundated by glorified reality television shows about police chases, prison life, death-row interviews and even now DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) reality activity. While they show the eventual capture, it also glorifies activity to those that may have a propensity to join the glorified gangster lifestyle.

National enforcement Task Forces against drug smuggling, gang activity and gun smuggling which concentrate on these activities supported by  in-determinant life sentences on the Federal level...creating an off-shore prison island of incarceration for predatory, drug smuggling and gang leaders may offer some level of reduction in those aspiring to these activities.

Youth gang interventions, redirection of gang members to be productive...taking that gang mentality from the community they intrude, with community involvement and creative work skills training programs, putting them to work on community projects may decrease and divert some. Their CRY FOR HELP is coming from many and certainly from the communities affected.

To watch the ritual of lighting candles, placing teddy bears and flowers at the scene of a youth murdered by drive-by shootings, police shootings or even family violent murders are great symbols of sorrow and remembrance. But this does not correct the problem. GUN seizures, interventions and education will reduce the availability of gun community killings. No child should die because of access to guns in the home.

Like the start of the peoples movement for change in the political arenas, with the beginning of the "TEA PARTY" the states and communities need a program of citizens action to Stop the Violence and Crime Wave that's tugging at America's soul. Make it happen in your community, cross that color barrier, racial barrier, religious divisions and language separation...join together to make 2011 the year we begin to not accept CRIME in the community as a way of life.
