Chicago, Lake View Area, Boystown Section saw a mob attack Sunday night July, 3, 2011. The holiday weekend usually celebrates a Gay Pride Weekend in the area.
WAS THIS A HATE CRIME ATTACK?
WAS IT JUST A RANDOM ACT OF CRIMINAL MOB VIOLENCE?
The police have not yet made arrests. The community will meet on Wednesday night, July, 6, 2011 to discuss the community problem. The local politicians are demanding more police patrols, including foot patrols, tactical response and horse patrols from the police.
That's a band-aid approach too such violence. More police, more restrictions and displacement of the violence to an area in the community where the police are not covering. This is a common response to an incident. Keep the immediate community satisfied at the expense of other communities in the area.
During the 1970's the Rand Institute reported on "DISPLACEMENT Of CRIME" as the result of saturation by law enforcement into a community. There is a need to spread the saturation , with little fanfare, little press coverage to address the situation. Dispatching teams of police into communities and the surrounding area will reduce displacement of crime.

What is necessary in total community involvement, crime tracking system, criminal-mob intelligence, gang enforcement intelligence and community eyes and ears cooperating with the local police, community leaders and clergy members. Its time for communities to understand that they are not immune from such actions by flash-mob criminal gangs. This is a new trend in criminal behavior, that has been ongoing for the past few years. It's not new to Chicago, Miami, Los Angles or New York City. It's happening in other countries as well.....Criminal -Mobs feel safe in numbers and individuals lack the courage to resist the moment of the time...being a criminal-mob member appears to be a ritual of RIGHTS to the criminal gang.....
Now with the assistance of the Internet; instant messaging, twitter, facebook, e-mail and other social networks, criminal- mob members and even the curious young "wanna-be's" know where, when and what;'s going on.
