It's now 40 years this Jan. 27, 2012 since NYPD Officers Rocco Laurie and Gregory Foster were ASSASSINATED while working Manhattan's Lower East Side 9th Precinct, NYC..
This was a murder that rocked NYPD and New York City. It was the beginning of the killings of numerous NYPD uniformed officer's by domestic anarchist group identified as the "Black Panthers Party". At the time they were unknown. In the years to come they became infamous for murder, bank robberies and anti-American attacks on American soil. They also became a political movement. They joined forces with the mostly white dominated, educated WEATHERMEN, who along with the likes of President Obama's inner circle of friends also caused attacks, riots and bombings throughout the United States.
The killer of Foster and Laurie has never been caught. One NYPD Detective spent 30+ years tracking him. Det. Tom Nearny retired from NYPD and left the investigation to another, as the search continues.
